Tucked away on Sydney’s lower north shore, the suburb of Cammeray is unbeatably central yet immersed in greenery with an endearing sense of community.

Cammeray is named after the Cammeraygal, an Aboriginal tribe who once resided in the North Sydney area. Cammeray was Sydney’s first quarry, with sandstone blocks from the quarry making many of the first buildings in Sydney town.

Miller Street is the main commercial hub, with its own café and dining scene that spills out onto the footpaths and courtyards including Stockland Cammeray which is the place to go to for a mix of shopping, dining and professional services.

Cammeraygal Laneway is a small pedestrian-only laneway and is a local hotspot for a relaxing weekend coffee and brunch. These areas are complemented by a rich selection of eateries included iconic Maggio’s, Laneway Café and Jason’s Kitchen.

Norths Leagues Club is a firm favourite amongst longtime residents.

Recreational Facilities

Turks Park on Middle Harbour with its bushland and walking trails is a popular green space with a children’s playground and off-leash dog park. The park is also home to weekend sports enthusiasts and boaties, who take advantage of the boat ramp that takes small vessels into Middle Harbour.

Cammeray Golf Course is nestled nearby Cammeray Tennis Courts and Green Park Village.

For those that appreciate a suburbs history, it is well worth visiting the nearby suspension bridge. Known as the gateway to North Sydney linking the harbourside suburbs of Cammeray and Northbridge, the Northbridge Suspension Bridge was opened in 1892.
