Erskine Park is named after James Erskine, who was granted land in this area in the early days of the colony. The suburb was later established in 1982. James Erskine Public School, the local school is named in James Erskine’s honour.

Local families can escape the summer’s sweltering heat by making a splash at an overhauled green space at Phoenix Reserve. Phoenix Reserve’s impressive play area features jets shooting out water, a splash pad, interactive play equipment, and new picnic areas for the whole family.

Peppertree Reserve is the largest recreation area in Erskine Park and is located on a ridge top adjoining some of the local schools, childcare facilities and community centre. The area frequently hosts an array of formal and informal local sporting games, and community activities.
